SMART  is for every BODY!

When I, MaryAnne Patton, started this practice, almost two decades ago, I focused my work on athletes– professional, amateur, college and high school in a wide variety of sports. Over the years, my focus has been consistent: helping clients with muscle recovery, enhancing athletic performance, preventing injury and finding new movement pathways.

Post Covid, I had a revelation: everyone can benefit from this work—not just athletes. I began working with seniors and saw first hand the debilitating effects of lost muscle strength from inactivity.

The good news? It’s never too late to turn things around. But it does take commitment and consistent effort.

I want to be your coach as you seek to improve your physical well being! Activity and mobility depend on the health of your muscular system. You’ve heard the saying: “If you don’t use it, you lose it!” It’s true! Without strong muscles, even basic movement-like walking can degrade and over time become difficult.

Cardio alone is not enough, muscles have to be challenged to remain strong and healthy. In fact, research shows that muscle decline can accelerate cognitive decline.

MUSCLES, MUSCLES, MUSCLES! Love them. Keep them strong!

In today’s fast-paced world, we are all looking for quick fixes. However, the body is not a machine that has replaceable parts. It’s a living system that needs attention, patience and care. Too often, modern medicine leans toward surgeries, medications and temporary solutions that often fail to address the underlying problem.  I’ve seen this firsthand, and that’s why I’ve made it my mission to educate clients on how to build and maintain strength.

My approach is rooted in years of study and practice in kinesiology and body mechanics, with emphasis on the muscular system. I’ve attended numerous workshops and trainings, blending techniques from massage therapy, physical therapy, osteopathy, chiropractic care and physiotherapy. My curiosity about the body has always driven me to investigate new and emerging modalities.

What makes my practice unique? I care.

I’m hands-on. I don’t rush sessions or follow cookie cutter insurance protocols. Instead, I take the time to understand your unique body. We work together to find the source of the issue, resolve it and create a sustainable plan which promotes your health and strength.

Sessions are not always “feel good”–many clients refer to it as “good pain.” More often than not, clients experience immediate relief after their first session. Before I take you as a new client, I need to know about your pain issues; when and how they began and how you have tried to remedy them. It’s important that the coach and client have good collaboration. Rehabilitation is a process, and in this, the sessions are 25% of the process ,and the other 75%? It’s on the client.

My client success rate is over 80%. To me, there’s no better feeling than hearing a client say “I haven’t felt this good in years.” If you’re frustrated with the lack of results from other healthcare providers, maybe it’s time to try a SMART approach.

Sincerely,

MaryAnne Patton
